Clacton is a constituency in Essex, England, which has been represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Giles Watling of the Conservative Party. The seat has been held by the Conservatives since June 2017.
Electoral History
In the 2019 general election, Watling won with a majority of 12,856 votes. The seat had previously been held by Labour's Douglas Carswell, who defected to UKIP in 2014, and then to the Conservatives in 2017. Carswell stood as an independent in the 2019 election, but came third.

Giles Watling was born in 1971 and is a former journalist and businessman. He was elected as the MP for Clacton in 2017.
