Cignetti bringing the buzz to Bloomington

Bloomington buzzing with excitement as Cignetti takes the helm

Bloomington, Indiana is buzzing with excitement as former NFL quarterback and Virginia head coach Mike Cignetti has been named the new head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers football program. Cignetti, who has a long track record of success at both the collegiate and professional levels, is expected to bring a new level of excitement and energy to the Hoosiers program.

Cignetti, 53, spent the past two seasons as the quarterbacks coach for the New York Giants. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Virginia from 2018-2021, where he led the Cavaliers to their first winning season in 15 years in 2019.

Cignetti, son of former West Virginia head coach Frank Cignetti Sr and younger brother of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach Frank Cignetti Jr, is a renowned offensive mind with 25 years of coaching experience, including 10 years coaching quarterbacks in the NFL. He is expected to implement a high-powered offensive attack at Indiana.
