History of SE Hockeyallsvenskan
Hockeyallsvenskan was founded in 1944 as the second-tier ice hockey league in Sweden. The league was originally known as Division 1, but was renamed to Hockeyallsvenskan in 1975.
Hockeyallsvenskan has undergone several changes over the years. In 1975, the league was expanded from 12 to 14 teams. In 1985, the playoffs were introduced. In 1995, the league was renamed to Allsvenskan. In 2005, the league was renamed back to Hockeyallsvenskan.
