Jimmy Johnson: A Coaching Legend

Head Coach Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Johnson is a renowned football coach who led the Miami Hurricanes to a national championship in 1987 and the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl victories in 1993 and 1994.

Johnson began his head coaching career at Oklahoma State University in 1979, where he compiled a 55-19 record.

In 1984, he took over as head coach of the Miami Hurricanes and quickly turned the program into a national powerhouse.

Under Johnson's leadership, the Hurricanes won the national championship in 1987 and three consecutive Big East titles from 1985 to 1987.

In 1990, Johnson left Miami to become head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

With the Cowboys, Johnson won two Super Bowls in 1993 and 1994 and was named NFL Coach of the Year in both years.

Johnson left the Cowboys in 1994 and returned to Miami in 2002, where he coached for two more seasons.

In 2019, Johnson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
